Burke St. John is the Vice Chairman and Head of the Financial Services Practice at CTPartners based in New York. For the past eighteen years, he has been exclusively dedicated to serving financial services clients, completing over 300 senior-level searches for a wide range of financial services clients in investment banking, investment management, private equity, insurance and diversified financial services.  In 2008, Burke was named to BusinessWeek's Top 50 List of the World’s Most Influential Headhunters.
 
The lion's share of Burke's search practice focuses on high-level assignments in: investment banking (corporate finance/client coverage, M&A, leveraged finance); fixed income (debt capital raising across all fixed income products including bank, bond, bridge, mezzanine and structured products); equities (equity capital markets and equity linked securities); global markets (fx, commodities, structured products and derivatives); principal investing (private-equity, mezzanine and hedge funds); and all areas of research.  His experience also includes most high-level staff functions: finance, administration and operations; technology and systems; credit and risk management; legal and compliance and human resources.
 
Prior to joining the firm, he was formerly a Senior Partner at Heidrick & Struggles International where he served as the Partner-In-Charge of the Global Investment Banking Practice.  Burke held a variety of other leadership roles during his career with Heidrick & Struggles including having served as Co-Head of the Global Banking Practice, Head of Strategic Initiatives for the Financial Services Enterprise and Chairman of the Global Quality Leadership Council for the Financial Services Enterprise.  He also served on the Senior Partner Nominations Committee for Heidrick & Struggles International.

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Burke served as a Vice President with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company (now J.P. Morgan Chase).  His banking experience included client coverage and leveraged finance.  Burke received his A.B. degree from Harvard College.
