Barry Bregman is Vice Chairman of CTPartners, a premier executive search firm committed to performance, quality and results. Barry’s expertise has been developed over close to three decades focused in human capital management, talent recruitment and advising Boards, business leaders and human resources professionals. Barry has been in executive search since 1998, and joined CTPartners in 2006 as a Senior Partner in the firm’s Global Financial Services Practice and leads CTPartners’ Global CFO/Financial Leadership Practice.
Barry’s search practice is concentrated in recruiting CFO’s, Controllers, Treasurers, Heads of Tax and Internal Audit, and other senior financial leaders for both public and private companies in a range of industries. In particular, Barry has a long successful track record of working with financial services institutions, building upon his pre-search experience with Goldman Sachs and Commodities Corporation.
Prior to joining CTPartners, Barry was with Heidrick & Struggles, where he led the Chief Financial Officers Practice and was a Senior Partner in the firm’s Financial Services Practice. Barry entered the recruiting business as Chief Operating Officer of the Wall Street boutique search firm, Sullivan & Company, which was acquired by Heidrick & Struggles in 1999.
Earlier in his career, Barry spent 14 years with Goldman Sachs, where he held a series of Talent Management and Human Resources leadership roles. Barry also served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Administration at Commodities Corporation, which was acquired by Goldman Sachs. Barry previously served as Director of Human Resources & Development for Mercer Delta Consulting, and started his career with Amerada Hess Corporation.
Barry serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club in New York City. He is a graduate of Lafayette College, and holds an MBA from NYU Stern School. Barry is Chairman of the Lafayette College Alumni Career Services Committee and sits on the College’s Alumni Council. Barry is based in CTPartners’ New York Headquarters. He and his wife Barbara, and their three children, live in Westfield, New Jersey.
